Zimtsterne
"Zimtsterne" is German for "Cinnamon Stars" – which explains their shape, and the touch of cinnamon added to highligh their flavor. Similar to a traditional macaroon, Zimtsterne starts with a meringue base, with ground almonds and hazelnuts added for body. A meringue glaze gives them a sweet coating.
